Healthy People Healthy Planet

We fully appreciate that our daily interaction with customers and suppliers has a direct impact on our environment. We take full responsibility for this and constantly aim to ensure that we do all we can to minimise the impact we make.
We do this in many ways:
- We ask our suppliers to use recyclable and biodegradable packaging wherever possible. And at our Cambridge head office we recycle all of our waste paper and cardboard
- We encourage trade with local suppliers decreasing the carbon mileage from field to plate on our goods
- We plan our distribution routes to ensure we minimise the amount of fuel consumption. Our current fleet of vehicles are the most energy efficient available in the market, planned vehicle and equipment maintenance programs also prevent breakdown and minimise waste emissions.
- We are minimising paper usage by moving from two part invoicing to one part invoicing
- We employ a lights out policy at the end of each working day for all computers and electrical appliances
- We use the most energy efficient refrigeration systems
- We employ people from the local community, many of whom cycle to work
We recognise the significance of protecting the balance of the food chain and the importance of protecting our future local and global food resources. Achieving this while meeting the needs of the present is a challenge for current and future generations. We are aware of our individual responsibility as a company and we will actively continue to seek out suppliers who are as equally committed to this important ethos
We are also fully committed to our local economy and actively seek positive ways to support and sustain our local community, businesses and initiatives.
We appreciate that we can always do more and constantly seek new and better ways of operating that will directly improve our environmental efficiency. If there is anything that we can do help you and your own environmental policies please contact any member of our staff.
